BOMBS-or Why didn,t I think of this sooner.

I have discovered a new source of absolute modeling fun . I get BOMBED ! Yup, BOMBED !! Now , I don,t mean it the way most would think .  I have recently acquired a few not so bad BOMBS, that others gave up on.Their loss has definitely been my gain . I have gotten vehicles I would not spend $15.00 to $26.00 bucks on .( It,s not really the price , but the BUDGET ). Fiscal responsibility in modeling isn,t easy .This month ,with the bombs I will be training myself , at 68 no less! to use two new to me products .One is the OFFICIAL -BARE METAL FOIL(for aircraft and bomb rechroming.) Now the second new thing is the addition of ALCLAD 2 and its base coat to my workshop tools .One of the fellows at my LHS brought in a car to show the owner . I have seen the effects in cars photographed for and by the mag , but , NEVER firsthand . Well , now I am a believer . So , my bombs and hobby shop owner extend their thanks to this product ! Now ,as to the BMF. I have been making my own for years and it seems they,ve changed the formula or something because I can,t get it as smooth as I used to .Oh ,well. Did I say rebuilding these bombs is fun ? I got a few that weren,t bad as this genre goes .One night in the freezer and they came apart like snap kits ! Right now after about 60 hours at the bench I now have completed the cleanup , paint and chroming of three very nice cars a 67 EL-CAMINO , a 56 FORD CROWN VICKY and a 63 STUDEBAKER- AVANTI . Now these autos can glow with the looks and pride that I have lavished on them in what I now find to be a very enjoyable pastime and that is ,Resurrecting BOMBS . MODEL ON !!   oldcarguy    P.S. My landlady still can,t figure out why there,s model cars in the freezer !
