So from one Mopar to another . . . . and then another still, but that's a different story.
I got the wee bit of orange peel polished out y'day, then gave the body a little bit of a dry scuff with some micromesh and followed it up with the decals. That stripe went on without a hitch, though I'm going to wait another week before I apply the clear coat. I wanna make sure the water underneath has completely dried up, so it'll sit in front of a fan in the meantime to help speed that along.
The ' 68 Charger kit is donating the Hemi, and I'm going to use the Magnum 500 wheels from the ' 69 kit. From what I can gather, this Testors Purple-icious is pretty close to Plum Crazy, though if I'm not mistaken PC was a non-metallic color. The newer one coat lacquers don't seem to have such big flakes at least, so it's passable at any rate.
Oddly enough the lhs here doesn't carry any of the newer Testors colors. I had to get the paint at Michaels, but at least with a 50% off coupon three bucks for a can of paint is easy to digest.
Hope to have more soon, and thanks fer lookin'!
Regards,
sfd
